Allahabad University authorities have decided to make the exanimate parking areas of science faculty functional in the future. When the parking areas are came into structural, the teachers, employees and the students of science faculty and non teaching staff would not be allowed to take their vehicles, be it car or two-wheeler inside the main gate of   the campus. Actually there are two gates one is from the Katra market side and the other is Company garden side. Because of opening of the two gates, the Science campus outsiders used the short cut in order to get away from hefty traffic. Apart from this, the girl students of the faculty were susceptible of eve-teasing as outsiders have an open and uninterrupted access to the faculty.

Political issues are also raised in the University between Anugrah Narain Singh is the Congress candidate and  Students Union president and Vivek Singh, is the Congress candidate in Banda. Both are sitting Congress MLAs and working for a re-election this time. Vivek Singh says, “Student unions are like nurseries for politics and it is natural for student leaders to graduate to state level politics. Since politics on the campus is essentially between peers, one learns how to remain an equal between equals — instead of becoming a first between equals — and this helps in politics if one sticks to the principle.”
