New Delhi – The coal India limited which was the largest coal company by output in the entire world may out put 30 million tons of coal in this financial year said by the Chairman-cum-Managing-Director S. Narsing Rao
Monday.
The imports are “dependent on firm orders from our customers,” Rao told Dow Jones Newswires he also said that the imports are needed to meet rising coal demand.
Power, cement and steel sectors are Coal India’s main customers. The state-run company has never imported coal before.Meanwhile, the company plans to lower its coal sales through electronic auctions by 3.9% on year to about 50 million tons in the year that began April 1, Rao said.
